About

Dr. Alexander G. Flor is Professor of Information and Communication Studies at the University of the Philippines - Open University. Formerly UPOU vice chancellor for research and development, he was the founding dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies serving two terms (2004 to 2010). He held the SEARCA-UP Centennial Professorial Chair in 2008-09 and the Metro Manila Professorial Chair in Development Communication in 1995-96. He has served as professor of strategic communication of the University of the Philippines Los Baños College of Development Communication.  Dr. Flor completed his PhD in development communication, international relations and policy studies at the University of the Philippines. His Fulbright-PAEF post-doctoral fellowship was spent at the East West Center (Honolulu), University of Southern California (Los Angeles) and George Washington University (Washington DC). He is a member of the East West Center Association, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
